Other tidbits:
1) Commission approved $275k for repairs to the centennial fountain at the east end of Clematis Street. 2) This year, the boat show on Flagler Drive will be expanded to 5 days, March 19-23, per commission approval. 3) Good news for tennis geeks: after a direly-needed rehabilitation, city-owned Howard Park Tennis Center (next to the convention center) reopened Feb. 19. It features clay and hard courts, along with pickleball courts. 4) Who knew that condo buyers downtown are jonesing to have 2 kitchens? Apparently, there have been enough requests from luxury condo owners & buyers that the commission passed a city-wide zoning change that allows all single-family homes and condos to build 2 kitchens, as long as the kitchens only serve that domicile. ---Schmidt
PAST DNA EVENTSThe January DNA Annual Business Meeting was well attended at the beautiful Community Foundation. Members enjoyed complimentary appetizers in the courtyard and get updates from our downtown police, fire department, Downtown Development Authority and Planning Division. There was an engaged Q&A session followed by an up close look at the new firetruck exclusive to downtown. If you missed the event, here are some of the presentation slides. Stay connected with us on Facebook and Instagram for more pictures and announcements. ADVOCACY
