Why Do Local Politics Matter?

Here's an example. The City Commissioners will be hiring a new WPB Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Executive Director in April 2020. The former CRA Director, Jon Ward, was outsourced from Redevelopment Management Associates (RMA) and the Mayor and Commissioners decided to bring the position in house as a City employee. The CRA controls a multi-million dollar budget and recently issued $110 million worth of bonds to be used for projects in and around Downtown. YES - that affects you. Current CRA projects include the purchase of the "Off the Hookah" building and the Sunset Lounge.

Come out to the Speakeasy Politics event to learn more about why you should care and VOTE in the municipal election March 17.
